Object Description
A rare George II mahogany chest of drawers with brushing slide of small proportions and superb patina.
This chest of drawers consists of a solid mahogany top with a moulded edge with a brushing slide below, this having solid brass knob handles.
This leads down to the four graduated drawers, each with oak linings, the solid mahogany drawer fronts have a moulded edge with original brass handles, locks and escutcheon plates.
The chest is supported by bracket feet which are below an applied moulding, the bracket foot design has been replicated to the back of the chest in oak which is a sign of excellent quality cabinet work.
A chest of drawers such as this one, of this period, condition and patina is very rare.
This piece is in exceptional original condition for age with evidence of some old repairs which is to be expected in a piece of this age.
