Object Description

Originally ‘lampes a quinquet’ (oil lamps), the hollow oval-shaped backplate, originally an oil reservoir, still with small dome-shaped hinged cover, the projecting arm with removable drip-basin, removable conical-shaped shade, the dark-green ground highlighted in gilt with cornucopia, fleur-de-lys, floral swags and garlands.
