Object Description

From our collection of Japanese Meiji-era (1868-1912) Okimono, this fine and serene depiction of a bearded Samurai fisherman. He stands carefully unhooking a small fish from his fishing line. His rod in the crook of his arm and sword at his hip. He is well dressed with elegant robes opulently decorated with paulownia flowers and foliage.
