Founded as a luxury porcelain atelier by François Frédéric Lanternier in 1857 catering to Europe’s nobility, Lanternier & Co is one of the most celebrated names in porcelain production. Their output from Limoges consisted of hand-decorated porcelain, expanding to employ 34 artisans by 1870. By 1890, Lanternier’s son, Alfred, joined the business after working for Wedgwood in England. Their fine tableware remains superior to this day.
