A Set of Eight Late George II Style Dining Chairs
Carved from mahogany and consisting of two carvers and six side chairs; all with conforming cabriole front legs with acanthus carved details and ball & claw feet; the pierced back supports with interlaced splats incorporating eagle heads.

The design of the interlaced back splat – with scrolls terminating in eagle’s heads – relates to a number of period 18th century examples and is inspired by the designs published by Robert Manwaring in the 1760s.
