Object Description
A Set of Sixteen Dining Chairs of the William IV Period
Constructed in mahogany, and consisting of fourteen side chairs, and a pair of carver armchairs. Rising from ring turned, tapering and lobed front feet, having sabre legs to the rear, with the front and side seat rails reeded, having drop-in blue leather seats; the swept and channelled back uprights terminate in lotus capitols, and enclose pierced rectangular centre splats with restrained foliate carvings, and the toprails carved with further lotus adornments.
