A Set of Three Large Hand-Painted Apothecary Jars
Probably by Maw & Son of London

Of impressive size intended for display purposes, the glass jars entirely reverse painted by hand, each on a white ground, one labelled “Sodæ Tart” below the Prince of Wales feathers, another “Arrowroot” also bearing the coat of arms of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and the last marked “Acid Tart” underneath the Royal Arms of Scotland. Each jar with its original gilt domed lid.
