Object Description
A small 17th century flemish coffer, with original working lock and key.
The coffer has two finely carved panels one depicting a female and the other a male , possibly adam and eve. The panels are divided by a large central cayatid , in which the key hole can be found. all of the carvings are painted, with the rest of the coffer having rich dark and light oak hues, It is possible that the entire coffer was once painted and was stripped.
The chest has carying handles at either end and sit upon later sledge feet with brass casters.
Overall the chest is in excellent condition.
