Object Description

From our collection of antique Japanese metalware from the reign of Emperor Meiji, (1868-1912) this stylish bulbous Bronze vase depicting the Kofuku-ji Temple Pagoda, (once one of the Seven Great Temples in the city of Nara.)

The Pagoda rises up above a delicately rendered forest of trees which fade into the mist at ground level. Silver patination is used to great effect against the copper-red of the Bronze to pick out the Pagoda and a tiny flock of birds in the distance.

Offered in very good condition as shown in the images. Contact us for further images or to arrange a viewing at our North London galleries.
