Object Description
A superb Meiji Period (c1880) monumental Japanese cloisonné vase with delicate decoration of birds among flowering wisteria on a very dark blue ground, on the original carved wood base.
Signed Goto
Due to it’s quality and size it is very likely this piece was made for one of the Great Expositions.
