A Very Interesting And Rare Stylish Rosewood fine Inlaid With Lemon Wood and Ormolu Portico Clock Circa: 1840
It is rare to find a portico clock with blind stamped wooden case with the French name of the furniture maker ( Ebenist), in this case Thevenard who was working in Paris in circa 1840.
The original ormolu (bronze doré) in original condition finely cast and chased, the original dial surround and original pendulum with very fine decoration of the matt and gloss gold with vine leaves and grapes.
The fine inlaid marquetry with vine and grapes.
The 8 day movement is fully cleaned and serviced, striking every 30 minutes on a bell.
the silvered dial with beautiful engraved centre rings.
Interesting is to see that the top and the base profile still have the original ivory colour lacquer finish including the feet, imitating ivory.
The columns are fine inlaid with lemon wood linings.
Overall in wonderful original used condition with nice patination in fully working order
