Object Description
Circa 1690 a William & Mary ebonized tortoise shell and inlaid cabinet on stand, the facing on the full-length drawer with pressed and ribbed tortoise shell with panels with foliate patterns beneath, the full-length door with a ribbed frame and a tortoise shell panel depicting 2 ladies in a classic setting, inside is well appointed, drawers with tortoise shell and a classic Flemish ribbing, finely turned handles with various inlays of walnut rosewood and ivory, all in exceptional patterns, the cabinet is resting on a later ebonized base and a full length drawer on turned tapering legs intersected by curved stretchers with an oval panel on the top, finishing on extended turned feet.
