An Aesthetic Movement Walnut metamorphic oak coal box. The handle when pulled back mechanically opens the two doors to the front, which has brass panels depicting Herons eating fish in a river scene with bullrushes and birds above them. The original internal tin liner has worn through and could easily be restored by a competent metal worker.
