This important book is the second volume of French architect Alexandre Raymond’s 1924 treatise on Islamic architecture and ornament. The first volume deals with tilework; this, the second volume, is concerned with religious and civil architecture in modern-day Turkey. The volume includes illustrated text and 60 chromolithograph coloured plates portraying elements of architecture from Constantinople and other areas of Turkey. The work is an important study of Islamic art containing marvellously beautiful illustrations.
