Object Description

Alfred Renoleau French Palissy Majolica wall plaque which features three overlapping fish laid onto a large leaf. Colouration: green, grey, cream, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Alfred Renoleau pottery.

Object Condition

Generally Good. KILN EFFECTS: black specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze in places; patches of stray coloured glaze to the leaf. RESTORATION. Filled chip to tip of the leaf. Stabilised and retouched crack across the leaf to the right of the handle. Stabilised and retouched crack across the handle.
