Object Description
A very elegant shelf longcase clock, crafted out of solid oak, dating from around the turn of the 1900s.
The 8-day American clock is spring driven, and strikes the hours and the passing of the half hour on a low gong.
The movement is currently working, but is to be sold fully overhauled, and guaranteed for 3 years.
The clock case looks has open sides, allowing light to highlight the lovely grain of the wood of the backboard. Alternatively, if the shelves are used for display, having light from three sides is a benefit.
The silvered dial is radiant, and the applied black numerals clearly visible from afar. The four corners of the dial have decorative applied brass spandrels.
