Object Description
A very fine, Amlash terracotta spouted ritual bowl, featuring a loop handle and decorated with spikes and dots. The vessel features a wide, shallow bowl, with a circular mouth. To one side, a long, tubular shaped spout with an open channel, extends out, tapering in towards the U-shaped mouth at the end. To the opposite side, a loop handle, decorated with five protruding spikes, reflects the spout. The spiked decoration continues around the rim of the bowl, with twelve, more triangular, protrusions decorating the bowl. The ritual bowl sits on a raised ring foot, from which a series of dots radiate out, dividing the reverse into four quarters. The line of dots continues down the reverse of the tubular spout, further enriching the vessel.
