Object Description
Offered in excellent condition, (as shown in the photographs) this attractive Japanese Satsuma jar and cover signed by Ryozan for the Yasuda Company.
The body of the jar with bright, finely painted decoration of playful scenes of children, men and women running along the banks of a mountainside lake. They are all dressed in vibrant, opulent clothing which is repeated as a colourful border. Each square of fabric, painted in a different design and fluttering as if caught on the breeze.
The top and rim of the lid features a scrolling thunder and clouds border and is topped with a tamed, seated green Fo Dog.
