Object Literature

Made by a Georgian craftsmen for workshop use, this is a versatile and sought after period piece of furniture. It is probable that this particular example was used for haberdashery or in a general shop counter environment. It is also possible it was for apothecary or artists pigment use.

Of very desirable size, this is a stunning original piece of Georgian painted furniture.

Object Condition

In beautifully untouched condition the painted pine drawer fronts are now evocatively chipped and worn, with a well-established patina; the handles are all original and each drawer moves freely. The top has been mainly worn of paint, whilst there is a scraped line of damage to one flank.
