Object Description

The early twentieth century period pine carcass of unusual proportions, showing the original period aubergine brown and sage green painted finishes, now distressed with age, and having an arrangement of two deep graduating drawers, with the original cup handles and escutcheons to each, the whole sitting on a plinth base.

Object History

Unknown.

Object Literature

It is hard to find decorative period furniture in these proportions making it perfect to act as a television stand, for instance.

Object Condition

Probably once part of a larger piece of furniture, the drawers gliding relatively smoothly, the whole proves sturdy enough and in good original order. The paint is nicely worn giving the piece a solid decorative feel with the top being more heavily worn as photographed. The base has some losses to one side as photographed.
