Object Description
An exceptional Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire & Diamond Butterfly Brooch finely worked in Silver Tipped 18 Carat Yellow Gold with French Control Marks. Designed as a butterfly with “lace like” wings, centrally set with a single Pearl (untested) and flanked by two wings set throughout with Rose Cut Diamonds, each undulating wing is highlighted with three raised claw settings, and these are set with four Natural Sapphires and two Natural Rubies, with two further Rubies for eyes; enhanced throughout the body and antenna with further Rose Cut Diamonds.
This magnificent brooch is on a detachable Brooch/Pin fitting revealing a securing device for conversion to a Hair Ornament (comb missing), this beautiful Brooch could also be adapted to make it convertible to a Pendant.
