Object Description
An Egyptian scarab beetle carved from a black hardstone. The anatomical features have been naturalistically rendered to include a striated head with a serrated frontal clypeus. Incised lines disect the prothorax and elytra, with scalloped edges to indicate the femurs. The underside features further anatomical detail with incised lines on the underbelly. The scarab is not pierced.
