Object Description
A fine ancient Egyptian restrung necklace composed of faience beads. The necklace initially consists of long, tubular turquoise faience beads, interspersed with small, discoid, faience beads of variating colours. The necklace then diverges into a double stranded formation, featuring ridged, tubular, blue faience beads, joined into small sections by a double-pierced bead. Towards the centre, the two rows merge to one and display long cylindrical turquoise faience beads, which increase in size. From each tubular bead there are either two red, white, or yellow beads displayed below. The necklace is finished with a modern gold-plated clasp. Some minor wear features to the beads, consistent with their age. Please be aware that the clasp has not been professionally tied.
