Object Description

A steatite Egyptian cowroid with deeply incised hieroglyphs to the reverse. The reverse features a symmetrical design featuring four uraei, with two opposing pairs. To the top of the cowroid is a broad collar sign, denoting ‘gold’.

The scarab is pierced longitudinally for suspension.

Date: Circa 2100-1600 BC
Middle Kingdom-Second Intermediate Period

Object Condition

Very fine condition with very clear hieroglyphs on the reverse.
