Object Description
A finely carved Egyptian steatite scaraboid in the shape of a trussed duck. Attention has been paid to portray the array of feathers across its tailbone and furled wings, with its head resting on the right wing. Unfortunately, the top of the neck is now missing. To the reverse is a depiction of the goddess Hathor, wearing a plumed headdress. Stylised uraei flank the goddess’ profile. The scaraboid is pierced horizontally for suspension, though this is now blocked.
