Object Description
An ancient Egyptian, turquoise faience amulet, depicting a rolled papyrus sceptre, known as wadj in Ancient Egyptian. The body is shaped in typical column form, tapering towards the bottom. The top flares outwards to a splayed terminal with a loop for suspension. Two small incised bands are visible by the neck of the amulet for further detailing of the terminal. A faint meandering zig-zag pattern is incised at the tip of the sceptre, adding another decorative motif.
