Object Description
An Egyptian scarab amulet carved from turquoise stone. The semi-precious stone has been incised to form the stylised anatomical details of the insect. A simplified head and clypeus have been carved, along with disecting linear striations to form the elytra and prothorax. The sides have been carefully carved to depict the scarabs legs. The underside has been left blank and the amulet has been pierced longitudinally for suspension, which is now blocked.
