Object Description

An ancient Greek Hellenistic terracotta vessel, probably a cup, modelled in the shape of a leg bent at the knee. The basin of the vessel resembles a swollen thigh whist the calf and foot act as the handle, suggesting a lymphedema medical diagnosis. A type of footwear is also visible, represented by a raised ridge across the ankle.

The piece is supplied with a custom-made stand.

Date: Circa 2nd-1st Century BC
