Object Description
A finely restrung Ancient Roman necklace composed of glass beads of different hues of dark blue. The beads include cylindrical, discoid, and spherical, subtly increasing in size towards the centre. The necklace features a pendant-like drop formed from a cylindrical, large ellipsoid, and hooped bead, through which the necklace is secured. Each bead is unique in translucency, texture, shape and size, which create a mosaic-like impression. The necklace testifies to the popularity of glass ornaments across the Roman Empire. The necklace is finished with a gold-plated clasp (please be aware the clasp has not been professionally tied).
