Object Description

Ancient Roman gold ring with intaglio of imperial eagle and standards. Set with an oval carnelian intricate intaglio of an imperial eagle between two decorated standards, in a closed back Roman set setting with a fine granulated border and flanked by two yellow gold beads, with a shaped oval bezel and a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, approximate weight 3.94g, circa 1st-2nd century AD.
