Object Description

A fine Ancient Roman finger ring featuring a silver round, flat-section loop and a gold oval bezel set with a garnet cabochon. The garnet intaglio has been delicately carved with the figure of a prancing horse, facing left. The anatomical features have been naturalistically rendered. The ring is further enriched with three spherical gold granules, situated in a triangular formation, on the shoulders.
