Object Description
A Roman, provincial, oil lamp, made from terracotta. The ovoid body features a plain discus, decorated with concentric circles only. There is a filling hole in the centre. Leading from the discus to the triangular-shaped nozzle is a narrow, incised ridge, which ends in two slight volutes. A small rhomboid motif sits just above the large burn hole, decorating the nozzle. A pierced handle sits on the shoulder, at the top of the lamp. The reverse of the lamp is undecorated and sits on a slight ring base.
