Object Description
A charming and very unusual mid 19th century Anglo Indian porcupine quill box, Of rectangular outline, the box lid inlaid with a star burst of horn and ivory within a border of quill tips and ivory engraved and filled with black lac. Opening to a sandalwood interior with polished horn edges, silver plated hinges and lock which retains its original key. Unusually with a fall front, the sides of the box with pure blond quill tips framed within engraved ivory borders. The base of plain sandalwood with a code and price P115 / Rs15.
