Object Description

An Anglo-Saxon bronze button brooch featuring a circular shape with an encompassing, slightly raised rim. The centre displays a stylised helmeted mask. Traces of the pin and catch plate are visible to the reverse.

Date: Circa 5th-6th century AD

Found East Anglia, UK. This piece will require an export licence for international purchase. The application will be arranged by the seller, at no additional charges for the buyer. The item can only be shipped after the licence has been obtained, this may take several months.

Object Condition

Good condition, encrustation and patination to the surface consistent with age. Pin on the reverse is now missing.
