Object Description

An Anglo-Saxon cruciform long brooch cast from bronze. The piece features a central square element with a protruding knob at the top. The single bow proceeds through a small arch, followed by a flat rectangle with two semi-circles on each side. The narrow foot below displays an animal head terminal finished with a trefoil shape.

Date: Circa 5th-6th century AD

Object Condition

Fine condition, pin now missing with iron deposit where the hinge is. Different hues of patination cover the surface.
