Description:
This is a good quality antique Anglo-Indian Victorian campaign teak waterfall stationery box, with small proportions, circa 1880, in excellent original condition. Constructed of top-quality solid teak, it is heavy in weight, which is always a sign of quality. The box comprises a hinged top rail, above a sloped front formed by two locking doors; the right-hand door retains its original working lock, with working key, while the left-hand door retains its original brass loop, which allows it to be secured shut via a hook mounted to the interior. The doors and top rail all retain their original brass hinges. The doors open to reveal a sloped bank of a total of 16 compartments, including two inkwell slots and a compartment which includes a lid that also serves as a pen tray. With both doors fully open, the hinged top rail can then be lifted up to allow access to the rearmost, full-width compartment. The interior is able to be configured to the user’s wishes, as all the compartment dividers are removable. Below, the box comprises a low, flat front and the box rests on a moulded plinth. This box is ideal for storing various articles of stationery, including paper, envelopes, pens, pencils and also has provision for two inkwells (ink pots are not provided – these are usually purchased with the ink contained within them). It could even serve as a general tidy around the home or office.

This stationery box features a rich mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This item would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the office, hallway or living room. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional.

In order to be able to offer you free delivery, it is based on a 1-man delivery only. For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with lifting the item.

Free 14 Days UK Returns & Refunds:
A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit). This refund policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.

For UK buyers, we accept cash on collection or delivery; cheque, credit card, BACS (free bank to bank transfer) or PayPal. Payment is requested within 5 days of the sale. Payment must be cleared before the items are collected or delivered.

The right-hand door retains the original working lock, with working key, while the left-hand door retains the original brass loop, which attaches to the original hook to the interior. The pen tray compartment lid is original and complete. There is provision for two ink well but ink pots are not provided (these are usually purchased with the ink contained within them). The box rests on its original moulded plinth. As the box boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic rich mahogany colour and patination. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
