Object Description
Antique Baktiar carpets from west Persia have one of the most intriguing and distinct styles of any antique Persian rug and boast a fascinating historical heritage and character. They are one of the few types of Persian rugs to encompass both nomadic tribal and antique rug designs. They are notable for their high wool quality and rich colours.
This interesting early Baktiar carpet has a bold graphic drawing. The soft terracotta field is very attractive and compliments the creative overall drawing and array of vegetable-dyed colours. It is framed by three individual borders.
A decorative example with a tribal charm and character to blend in a stylish setting.
