Object Description
A stunning and rare size antique Bidjar in excellent condition, this was probably made as a sampler to show what design, quality and colours could be used to make a large carpet. This has a rare ivory background and a beautiful floral design similar to designs we see on rugs from the Karabagh region in the Caucasus. It’s weave and dye palette are consistent with rugs from the late 19th century. The condition is exceptional with a good pile throughout the rug and the original ends are secure too. No old repairs and beautiful natural dyes. A wonderful small rug with a very pretty design!
