Object Description
These beautiful antique Shirvan rugs and Runner Rugs have been woven in the mountainous region of Caucasus and dates from the second half of the 19th century.
This fantastic runner rug displays an all-over geometric rug design of repeat diamond shapes in multiple arrays of colours. A duo band border with geometric patterns frames the entire tribal rug. The red rug has a cream background and a variety of different coloured patterns in the same shape. These large rugs would stand out as hallway rugs or stair Runner Rugs.
Constructed by hand on looms by master weavers of Azerbaijan with fine, hand-spun wool which was dyed with organic vegetable dyeing techniques that have been used for generations.
