Object Description
Antique diamond necklace. Set with one round old cut diamond in an open back cutdown setting with a weight of 1.10 carats, further set with one round old cut diamond in similar settings with a weight of 1.05 carats, additionally set with forty six round old cut diamonds in open back cutdown and grain set diamond shaped collets with a combined weight of 14.27 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 16.42 carats, to a an elegant fringe necklace, flowing with movement, set with a graduating row of diamonds, each suspending a single or double diamond drop spaced between chamfered edge bars, with an oval link chain and openwork diamond set secure push clasp with a pierced gallery, fancy backholing and a safety chain, approximately 17.5″ in length. Tested yellow gold with silver settings, rhodium plated, circa 1880, accompanied by a fitted box.
