Object Description
An antique diamond crescent pendant, set with a row of old-cut diamonds, graduating from the centre, in cut down settings, surrounded by old-cut diamonds, in a grain set channel, with a flat edge on the inside and grain and cut down settings, with a gold pierced gallery on the outside curve, mounted in silver-upon-gold, circa 1890. In Victorian symbolism the crescent or new moon represented a new relationship. Hopeful it will “wax” into matrimony. Estimated total diamond weight 4.50 carats. In our opinion the colour is J to K and our opinion of the clarity is VS to SI.
