The Art Deco skyscraper wardrobe retains its original circular bevelled mirror, above a bank of five graduated drawers. The dovetailed mahogany-lined drawers retain the original elegant chrome capped & turned mahogany handles. Adjacent is a full-length handing wardrobe, with a telescopic metal hanging rail, along with a hanging-bar fitted to the inside of the door. The doors and drawer fronts are decorated with stunning book-marked burr-walnut timbers around a mahogany frame. The wardrobe door retains its original brass lever lock, with working key and chrome door hinges. Although this is a single piece compactum, the mirror can be removed to allow for easier / safer access up a staircase. The Art Deco compactum wardrobe, sits on its original moulded ebonized recessed plinth and the back features solid backboards.

This Art Deco compactum wardrobe, would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space. This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the plinth.

This Art Deco skyscraper wardrobe boasts a rich walnut colour. It has a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

History of Art Deco Furniture:
Art Deco, sometimes referred to as Deco, is a style of visual arts, architecture and design that first appeared in France just before World War I. It influenced the design of buildings, furniture, jewellery, fashion, cars, cinemas, trains, ocean liners, and everyday objects such as radios and vacuum cleaners. It took its name, short for Arts Décoratifs, from the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes (International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts) held in Paris in 1925. Art Deco combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials. During its heyday, it represented luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress.
