Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Edwardian desk chair, featuring a revolving mechanism, constructed of solid oak, circa 1910, with a newly upholstered crimson red leather seat, in excellent working condition. The Edwardian desk chair features a comfortable curved scroll bar back, connected to wrap around arms, supported by an elegant vertical fan back. The Edwardian desk chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain crimson red leather, which has been finished with hand-tacked brass studs to the perimeter and traditional hessian webbing to the underside – it is therefore very comfortable to sit on. The chair frame has been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard, therefore the colour and patination is of an excellent standard. The Edwardian desk chair incorporates a revolving mechanism and it rotates 360 degrees; the seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The mechanism also features a reclining action, the tension of which can be adjusted by turning a small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The chair mechanism is in good working order. The Edwardian desk chair sits on four splayed solid oak legs that terminate on the original steel & brass ball castors, which are in good condition.

This Edwardian desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home.

The Edwardian desk chair boasts a rich oak colour having been cleaned and French polished, by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop, along with the and years of care and cleaning it has received. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain crimson red leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter and traditional hessian webbing to the underside. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. The reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The Edwardian desk chair retains its original steel & brass ball castors, which are in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.

We offer free delivery to mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland (anywhere south of Stirling). *We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland; for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands.
