This is a fine quality antique English Georgian provincial solid oak floor standing double corner cupboard, circa 1780 – 1800, incorporating internal drawers and shelves, in excellent condition.

Description:
This is a fine quality antique English Georgian provincial solid oak floor standing double corner cupboard, circa 1780 – 1800, incorporating a painted interior with internal drawers and shelves, in excellent condition. The cupboards splits into two sections at waist height, which allows easy access into the house. The cupboard comprises a moulded protruding cornice decorated with diamond shaped dentil work above two cupboard sections, fitted with oak fielded panelled doors which retain their original brass “H” hinges. The upper section features tall curved, twin fielded panelled doors. The upper right-hand door retains the original working lock, with working key, while the left-hand door retains the original steel loop which secures the door shut by connecting the steel hook latch (located under the shelf). The doors open to reveal a three-tier bank of shelves with shaped fronts, above three small internal drawers. The small drawers are hand dovetailed and oak lined. The lower right-hand door retains the original working lock, with working key, while the left-hand door retains the original steel loop which secures the door shut by connecting the steel hook latch (located under the shelf). The cupboard stands on its original bracket feet, while the two rearward sides retain their original pine back boards. The cupboard is ideal in the kitchen or dining room, and offers significant storage space. This item is solid in joint and ready to use. The double corner cupboard has been traditionally wax polished by hand in our workshop; therefore, the finish and colour are in excellent condition.

The corner cupboard features a rich dark brown oak colour. It has a fantastic colour and patination having been cleaned and wax polished, along with the years of care and cleaning it has received.

For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with lifting the item.

Free 14 Days UK Returns & Refunds:
A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit). This refund policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.

For UK buyers, we accept cash on collection or delivery; cheque, credit card, BACS (free bank to bank transfer) or PayPal. Payment is requested within 5 days of the sale. Payment must be cleared before the items are collected or delivered.

Object Condition

This oak double corner cupboard is in excellent condition, which is commensurate with its age. The double corner cupboard has been traditionally wax polished by hand in our workshop; therefore, the finish and colour are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The doors retain their original brass “H” hinges and close flush to cupboard frame. The right-hand doors and the left-hand internal drawer all retain their original working locks, with working keys. The left-hand cupboard doors both retain their original hook latches. The interior of the cupboard has been newly painted in a natural sage colour, which contrasts attractively with the red-brown exterior of the cupboard. The cupboard stands on its original bracket feet and retains its original pine backboards. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
