This gilt bronze and champlevé enamel garniture comprises a mantel clock and a pair of candelabra. All designed in the eclectic Belle Époque manner, incorporating elements of Rococo and Neoclassical influences.
The mantel clock, supported by a flat gilt bronze base, is constituted of a central plinth surmounted by a cylindrical clock drum, all gilt bronze. The cylindrical drum contains a circular dial with Roman numeral hour marks. Strikingly, the drum is flanked by geometrical gilt bronze scrolls and a pair of gilt bronze cherubs and is topped by a vase-form finial. Throughout, the gilt bronze is inset with champlevé enamel in shades of blue, beautifully complementing the warm gilt bronze.
The pair of candelabrum is styled and decorated in a complementary manner, each raised on conforming bases and inset with similar champlevé enamel. Each candelabrum issues four ornate gilt bronze branches.
The clock movement is stamped.
