A fine quality French mahogany and brass desk chair with bergere seat circa 1880.
This large well-proportioned desk/captains chair has a curved back with a recessed panel with brass moulded edge which sweeps down the front having rear brass panelled supports.
The bergere seat bowed to the front with brass panelled frieze being supported by finely tapering brass fluted front legs and rear splay legs. In excellent condition having been restored using traditional methods this well-sized chair is extremely well made with a lovely colour.
The bergere seat is sound and in very good condition.
A very attractive desk chair of good proportions.
