Object Description
A good quality antique George III period figured mahogany bow fronted tallboy / chest on chest.
English Circa 1790.
The fiddle back mahogany timbered bow cornice having a moulded edge over a boxwood strung and satinwood inlaid frieze, consisting of oval medallions and panelled boxes, below which are two over three graduated cockbeaded oak lined drawers with later oval pressed brass handles flanking by very finely canted corners. The lower section with conforming graduated drawers sit above a shaped and satinwood banded apron terminating on finely splayed feet.
In excellent condition having been recently restored using traditional methods this antique chest on chest has obtained a fine warm colour and is ready for home use.
Please note : bow chest on chests are extremely rare to the market, with this being of fine colour and elegant proportions.
