Object Description
This is a rare George 111 mahogany library table in excellent condition with a beautiful patina.
The front of the desk is fitted with three deep oak lined drawers with hand cut dovetails joints and period brass locks and a key.
The drawer fronts have cock beading to the edges with brass Handels (old replacements).
The back of the desk has three faux drawers to match the front so the desk can be free standing facing Ito the room.
It stands on four legal square section tapering legs terminating in the original brass cup castors.
The writing desk has recently benefited from Cleaning and wax polishing and a replacement black hide writing surface has been fitted, with gilt and blind tooling. This is surrounded by a crossband of mahogany and a moulded edge to the top of the table.
