Object Description

Antique Georgian Embroidered Silkwork Picture of a lady beside a tomb. Framed in an old wood frame with glass. Loose mounted onto card, with a wood and brown paper backing. Oval card mount slip to front. The piece is worked in silk on silk ground, in a variety of stitches. Pictorial scene depicts a lady laying roses on a tomb. Hand painted detail to sky, roses and lady’s face.

Object Condition

Good. No holes. A few pale stain specks to the ground. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong. Frame showing some wear, corners glued and one chip reglued, but structurally sound
