Object Description

An antique Georgian wrought iron pedestrian gate with original posts sourced from Oxfordshire. At over 2 metres tall, this superb gate is traditionally crafted at the hand of a talented early 19th century blacksmith.

Supplied with all components, this gate and posts are ready for positioning at the entrance to a property, the ornate design of elegant scrolls and stylised finials simply timeless and suitable for properties both old and new.

Showcasing a Greek key design with honey suckle finials and spear finials to the gates.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. Transports as 3 pieces. Old paint finish with light surface rust in places. Approx 10cm (4 inches) was previously set into the ground at the base. Top of the post which is another 10cm to be set into a wall or to be fixed back. This is going to require a bottom pivot for the gate, but the top is hinged into the post. Supplied with a new pivot cup. Working handle but no key.
